BACKGROUND: Ferdi was born in 1916 in Frankfurt, Germany. He grew up relatively well off for the most part. Most of his teen years were spent in Berlin where he was active in social groups at the time that were pro-lgbt lifestyles, frequently involved with lesbian bars that were popular at the time. His family was not well aware of his activities until his late teens when he was disowned. However, Ferdi had enough contacts and was able to make ends meet with regular odd jobs and activities connected to his activism. He had also not been very close to his family even before being disowned so it didn't have a large impact on him.

Ferdi was an anti-nazi activist, raising the alarm prior to the Night of the Long Knives that the climate was changing for homosexuals in Germany. The scene had been one that flourished through much of the early 20th century but with the rise of the Nazi regime, also came the rise of violence towards anyone different. During this time, Ferdi was informed of the massacre by a brownshirt he knew and whom he later found murdered in his apartment.

Once it became clear, there would be nothing but further escalations, Ferdi decides to turn to self preservation and flee Germany with the assistance of his lover at the time. They were able to safely make it out of Germany and travel to Canada where they were taken in as refugees.

PERSONALITY: Ferdi is a rather outgoing, snarky and loud person. He is rather outspoken, which can quite often get him into trouble. He's intensely loyal. While he is a rather lively person, he doesn't have much belief or trust in humanity or the good of people -- especially as a collective. His outlook on others is very informed by his most recent experiences with not only discrimination but brutal murders and betrayals.

He doesn't trust most and the motives of people intrigue him more than most anything else about them. It doesn't quite matter to him what they want as to why they want it. He'll go at great lengths to try and understand people to that end.

This is a divergence from his earlier years when he was blindingly trusting and believed in the good of people.

INCENTIVE: Ferdi cares most about his own safety when it comes down to it. At this point, he is unsure if he can make it out of Europe safely and that is his primary incentive, to know with certainty that he will be safe.

FIT: Ferdi is a physical person and enjoys social environments so this would be a place that certainly suits his fancy.

CONSENT: Ferdi has not broken consent in his past and would have no intentions of ever breaking it. Due to seeing abuses of his friends he has very little tolerance for anything being imposed upon people outside of their own will.
